Aspen Institute
When the Aspen Institute began a study on foundations endowed by visual artists, it turned to WolfBrown to document feedback from those already at work in this fast-growing segment of philanthropy. The purpose of the study was to create a formal body of knowledge to complement the informal collegial practice of sharing information that exists in the sector and to provide the next generation of such foundations with a guide to best practices. The resulting handbook covers such topics as stewarding an artist’s legacy, managing archives, and conceiving programs to benefit the public.
