Saint Louis Zoo-Museum District
This year-long project was intended to develop a compelling “case” for the five remarkable organizations that comprise the Zoo-Museum District (ZMD) in Saint Louis – the Missouri Botanical Garden, the Missouri Historical Society, the Saint Louis Art Museum, the Saint Louis Science Center, and the Saint Louis Zoo. The year-long effort involved extensive research and the final report laid out the contributions that the institutions make to the fabric of life in the Saint Louis region, the nation, and the world. The categories used to describe that contribution were organized according to five categories of “capital” – economic, human, social, intellectual, and cultural. Much statistical and descriptive detail backed up the case, which was presented both in several reports and presentations suitable for public consumption and use with the media.
