Youth Service America
Youth Service America was founded in 1986 to take a leadership position in the youth service field. The organization grew quickly and after its first two years of operation required a careful analysis of its mission, programs, finances, governance, and internal administration. The first WolfBrown consultancy established criteria by which it should determine which activities came under its purview. It set financial benchmarks, discussed the role and composition of the Board, and recommended changes in staffing and computer systems. A subsequent reassessment developed more detailed recommendations, timetables, and benchmarks. It also recommended ending the Co-Directorship staff leadership structure and a subsequent comprehensive planning process with its constituency.
