SARATOGA PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
Founded in 1966, The Saratoga Performing Arts Center is a non-profit organization which operates an amphitheater in the Saratoga Spa State Park. It has since become the summer home of both the New York City Ballet and The Philadelphia Orchestra, along with a variety of other performances throughout the season.
In 2014 WolfBrown submitted a proposal to facilitate the process of creating a new strategic plan for the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. With the new strategic plan the SPAC would form a long-term plan for artistic and financial sustainability while considering the issues of a non-profit in the 21st century. The objectives of the plan submitted by WolfBrown would be to serve the public interest, while garnering audience and philanthropic support and increasing public value through community and educuation programs.
At the SPAC Vision Retreat Joe Kluger facilitated a meeting with the intention of reaching a consensus on SPAC’s future. As a consultant his role was to assist in refining and reexamining their public mission and the strategies to help them achieve that. This entailed the restructuring of SPAC’s core values, purpose, mission, long-term vision, and major goals. Some key issues which were focused on included: future programming, inspiring donors, fostering audience participation, and modifying relationships with primary resident companies to be mutually beneficial.
