Right to Vote
WolfBrown conducted a yearlong assessment of this collaborative initiative, which was designed to remove obstacles to voting encountered by formerly incarcerated individuals. The assessment was sponsored by The Atlantic Philanthropies and The JEHT Foundation. Because the laws governing who may or may not be eligible to vote are written and enforced at the state level, this assessment encompassed an analysis of the needs and successes of state-based restoration efforts. At the same time, the assessment considered the contributions of a group of national organizations for whom access to the vote has been an important component of their work. WolfBrown’s assessment concluded with a summary of lessons learned that the consultants believe may apply in other collaborative efforts, whether on this topic or any other.
