CULTURAL ENGAGEMENT RESEARCH
Research on cultural participation at the community level has been quite limited. The recent Urban Institute report on Cultural Vitality identifies a need for significantly expanded efforts to measure and characterize a wide range of arts, cultural and creative activities at the local and regional levels. The void of information has left arts advocates and policymakers guessing as to the full extent of cultural participation in their communities. The central challenge of this work is capturing the full spectrum of cultural engagement, including heritage-based activities, home- and church-based activities, digital and web-based activities, activities in the commercial sphere, etc. WolfBrown is currently working on several major initiatives to address this need, and we anticipate significant demand for longitudinal tracking of cultural engagement in communities across the U.S.
