Ballet Internationale (BI), a world renowned ballet company based in Indianapolis, Indiana, contracted with WolfBrown to carry out an organizational assessment to determine the viability of the organization after years of financial difficulties. This assessment included a comprehensive review of all aspects of its operation and funding as well as interviews with board, staff, associated consultants, and funders. The analysis of the financial history of the company was combined with a benchmarking exercise that compared its financial profile with that of other ballet companies. A report was presented to the Executive Committee of the board which, in an environment of deepening crises, chose to cease organizational operations.
