Miami Art Museum
Consultants from WolfBrown worked on a strategic transition planning services for this museum that had recently changed its focus from an exhibition hall to a collecting institution. Miami Art Museum, with its focus on contemporary art of the Western Hemisphere, is housed in a Philip Johnson-designed facility in downtown Miami that was ideal for an exhibition hall but lacked necessary space for a collecting institution – including collections management, additional staff, and the museum’s expanded education programs. It has secured one of the most important sites in the City – Bicentennial Park, which faces Biscayne Bay in downtown – for the Art Museum and the Science Museum of Miami, called “Museum Park Miami.” Consultants worked with senior Museum leadership to build institutional and civic partnerships, led retreats, and provided on-going counsel to senior staff and the Board’s Executive Committee.
