Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission
The Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission was considering doing a new cultural plan for “Music City.” WolfBrown consultant Marc Goldring was asked to help the Commission think through some of the issues around community-based planning for arts and cultural development. He spent several days on-site, meeting with staff and board representatives of cultural groups, as well as civic and business leaders, educators, and others – including representatives of Vanderbilt University’s Curb Center for Art, Enterprise, and Public Policy, headed by Bill Ivey, former Chair of the National Endowment for the Arts. Based on this input, he presented a report on Nashville’s readiness for cultural planning. The Commission has been assembling the necessary funding to undertake the project.
