Knoxville’s downtown is the scene of a whirlwind of activity, with almost half a billion dollars of development either under way or on the books. And local arts, cultural, and entertainment organizations realized that they were not at the table when these projects were conceived. To change that, WolfBrown was brought in to conduct a cultural planning project. The research provided important baseline information on the economic clout of the cultural sector and the general appeal of arts, culture, and entertainment to residents. Priorities included building the capacity of local organizations and establishing a downtown cultural district.
