The City of San Jose, California, through its Redevelopment Authority, approved the building of a $25 million complex that would be devoted to Mexican arts and culture. WolfBrown consultants were hired to design an extensive program, marketing, and fund-raising plan for the building and to do organizational development work with the entity chosen to run the building. WolfBrown identified an innovative way to use existing arts organizations as tenants, one that creates a core of activity and a home for emerging arts groups. The plan also made specific recommendations about how the space configuration could maximize usability and audience draw, and it presented budget pro formas to provide an accurate assessment of the subsidy level required to operate the building.
